"Wisteria Wonderland".....completed Mural

4m x 2.3 drop mural.  Dimarsart©2012 All rights reserved
Just added the finishing touches to my "Wisteria Wonderland" Mural........ Butterflies, dragonflies, ferns  with a trail of leafy tendrils. The wall is 4m wide by 2.3 metre drop from floor to ceiling . I have used Farrow and Ball emulsion paints with touches of acrylic paint.  Colours and style were initially inspired by the existing soft furnishing which are an eclectic mix of French three piece chair and stool set which have been upholstered in a Chinese style gold and turquoise jacquard fabric from Osborne and Little. Cushions are Kashmir influenced with embroidery and sequin embellishment with a textured Turquoise metallic fabric from Designers Guild.
I wanted the overall look to be traditional with a twist....... A touch of the Chinoiserie combined with my own particular style of traditional English and stylised patterns inspired by nature.... usually taken from images from my garden (the wisteria and ferns in particular)... and from my many walks in the Northumberland countryside...... Greater bindweed are one  of my favourite flowers to paint as I love curves and tendrils and trumpet shaped flowers......... Almost completed the small decoration above the fireplace in the same room..... will post on the blog soon.......
